Here's sneak peak at how I got Veronica into this tricky-to-sculpt position:

Had to resculpt a bit at this point and add more to her thighs, and thin her calves a bit....

Little Brianna is finished!

She was created using the same techniques taught in Sculpt a Baby Mermaid:

New Merbaby Brianna Progress (WIP)

 The sculpting is nearly finished.  The tail will be easy!  Easier than tiny fingers, at least!

 Trying out her shell that will be her base.

The fun part is adding pretty colors and layers to her tail.

It's going to be awesome!  I love the lifelike feel they give!  The commissioned mermaid had eyes just like these (see last post).

On the Workbench...

Added a bit more glam to the commissioned mermaid.  Now her tail is covered with little "bubbles" (microbeads).

And the little merbaby is coming along.  I wanted to get her baked tonight so she'd be ready to finish in the morning...but I need the bright daylight to giver her a once over before she's ready to be baked. I actually got her hands, tummy, and bottom finished tonight as well.  I'm glad I figured out that hand pose.  It ended up pretty cute.  It was pretty rough at this state.

New Merbaby on its way and Posable Baby Tutorial

Today I spent working on another little merbaby.  She's just getting started. I took this picture to help me see her symmetry better.  I've got some work to do!

I finished a little tutorial on how to create a posable baby doll.  I can't wait for winter time so I can find more of these cute, furry gloves to turn into baby bodies!

Commissioned mermaid piece

I had someone very enamoured with Eloris, and she asked if I could make a similar mermaid for her.  So I just followed my Tails & Torsos video, and wow...they could be sisters!   She also purchased these two Baby Mermaids, Savannah and Hannah.  Aren't they cute altogether?  I'm almost finished with the Sculpting a Baby Mermaid video set.  But wow...it's over 2 hours of info, and I still have more footage to process.  No wonder it's taking me so long!

The Coral Reef was purchased at InstantReef.com and was made for a salt water aquarium.  But it makes a perfect mermaid base, don't you think?

Just finished a mermaid...tutorial coming soon!

You might remember this face I sculpted a while back.  She finally found her destiny as the star of my new tutorial, Sculpting a Mermaid.  I did it in video this time and it will be available soon.  If you are a member of Sculpt University, you'll notice the series of videos being added as I've finished them.  Just working on the last one (the fin) now.  Boy, that arm position was tricky!  Doesn't look too hard, but wow.... it was a challenge.  All the more satisfying when I'm finished.

WIPs - On the Work Bench....Eric, Tess

This is Eric.  I began him Monday or Tuesday this week.  He's coming together quickly!

A Blast From the Past....Rhianna, my pregnant fairy

And I don't know if I ever named this one.  I think she's the first fairy I ever made.  That rose was fun to sculpt as well.

And I've been playing around with creature ideas.  This baby dragon turned out cute.
